We had lots of people in the store through the day. They’d come in to pick up a few things and chat with Ian and other customers. There were times it was difficult to move around in the store there were so many people shopping, looking for the perfect structure for a particular spot on their layout, or for the freight car of locomotive they really “need”. It was a great opportunity to meet new customers and to talk to those we hadn’t seen in a long time.

After the shopping and conversation inside the store it was time to go around back to the patio for a hamburger or hot dog and continue the conversation, or start a new one, with old friends they hadn’t seen in a while. The patio was just as crowded as the store!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather! Who would have thought that it was only the first part of April! It felt more like June!

Chef Chuck didn’t put in many hours at the barbecue, but his sous-chef(s) were well trained and had things well in hand.

Thanks to all of you that joined us through the day and helped to make it such a great success! We really had a great time!

“TCS is dedicated to providing high quality Digital Command Control decoders and harnesses to the DCC industry. We manufacture a wide range of decoders for HO, N, and Z scale.”We now have Canadian access to the entire TCS (Train Control Systems) line. Have a look at their price list or visit their web site for more information.

I compared their US suggested prices to our prices in the Shop, these are TCS products received from our Canadian supplier in the last few weeks. I found that our prices for the decoders were 3% to 5% cheaper than the US Funds MRSP in the pdf. Please use the numbers at the left of the list if you wish to order or ask for a quote.

In the Shop at the moment we have the A4X, A6X, T1, DP2X, M1, M4, IMF4 and IMFP4. As well, we have Kapton tape, and a good selection of TCS decoder wire in 30 gauge stranded 20 foot lengths, in the eight most common NMRA colours.

TCS has a “No Questions Asked” warranty, and they are the only decoder manufacturer that I know of that has Back Electromitive Force (BEMF) in their entire line. BEMF can be used to improve slow speed performance of some locomotives but the biggest advantage is that locomotives will run at a constant speed whether they are running on the level or going up or down a grade.

I’m on several decoder-type Yahoo lists, and I have never heard anything but praise for their line.

If you are looking for a decoder to install in that new or favorite locomotive you can’t go wrong with TCS. If you aren’t sure which decoder will fit your particular locomotive contact us and we’ll let you know which one(s) will fit. Order your TCS decoders today!

Do you know that there is an easy way to be notified when there is new information added to Don’s HO Service web site? If you subscribe to the RSS Feed for the site you will automatically be notified when something new is posted. You won’t have to worry about more email messages coming into your In-Box. RSS uses a “reader” to update you on new content on web sites you are subscribed to – not email. A “reader” is a separate program that keeps you up to date on web sites you are subscribed to.

Subscribing is easy, just click on the RSS icon in the lower left of the web site.

You will be asked to choose an RSS Reader. There are several to choose from. If you don’t use an RSS Reader I suggest you give Google Reader a try. It’s very easy to use. You will have to sign up for a Google account, if you don’t already have one. But signing up is a breeze and does not take long.

Once you have your Google Reader set up you can subscribe to other web sites using the “Add Subscription” option. Simply type or paste the URL for the site and, if the site has an RSS Feed, you will be notified when anything new is added.

Now you’ll never miss out on that great deal or early bird ordering!

I have been given a (wrong scale, no motor) British style passenger trolley that was intended as a decoration, a plastic battery operated train set, and books for the wrong era and railroad, amoung other things that I have blocked from my memory. So now I tell my family that I’d rather get a gift certificate than something they “think” I might need or like.

I can get exactly what I need using a gift certificate. No wrong scale, no toys, and the right era and railroad.

Did you know that Chuck sells gift certificates? Make sure your family knows where he is located or how to contact him so they can either pick one up or order one for just-in-time Christmas delivery!
